About the Picture
After arrival to Madrid, one of my first destinations was Plaza Mayor in the heart of the city and that’s when I stumbled upon Iglesia de Santa Cruz.
The architecture in Madrid is beautiful, colorful buildings with quite not existing balconies, they add a lot of charm to the city and walking the city streets was a great experience. Just when I left Playa Mayor this view especially I found appealing to my eyes and so now, I’m sharing it with you.
Honestly speaking, I didn’t know what’s the red brick building was when I was photographing it, but it’s actually a very popular, a church that served people for quite a while, Iglesia de Santa Cruz (Church of Holy Cross) in Madrid.
Quite popular and when tourist visit the church, they want to see the statue of Saint Judas Tadeo, with neo-Gothic interior its very worth visiting, especially when you’re nearby, it’s just a “minute” away from Plaza Mayor.
It’s like a hidden gem, a lesser known landmark, not extremely popular among tourists, but once its found its cherished by the visitors. It’s nice to find peaceful and quiet spots while traveling to not only explore the beauty but to also take a moment for yourself.
