This photo was taken from Waterfront Park in North Vancouver, right next to Lonsdale Quay, during sunset. It shows the Vancouver skyline at sunset, with Downtown Vancouver across the water and the evening sky warming up behind the city.

I think Waterfront Park is one of the best places to enjoy this kind of view. I honestly cannot remember how many times I visited this spot when I was in Vancouver. During the day, at sunset, or later in the evening, it always had something to offer.

In this image, you can see the Downtown Vancouver skyline, the waterfront, the water of Burrard Inlet, and the white sails of Canada Place. The city feels close enough to recognize, but far enough away to see it as one wider scene.

That is one of the things I like most about this view. A short SeaBus ride from Waterfront Station to Lonsdale Quay gives you a completely different perspective of the city. You are still close to Downtown Vancouver, but suddenly you are looking at it from the other side.

For me, there is something special in that. It feels a little like looking at a city from an airplane window before leaving it behind, except here you are standing by the water, taking your time, and simply enjoying the landscape.

This place always reminded me how much perspective and distance can change the way we see things. Sometimes you only need to cross the water, look back, and the same city feels new again.
